Summary: | This paper presents the deployment of a wireless water-quality monitoring system to a paddy crop plantation. The developed system measures water quality parameters, namely, temperature and dissolved oxygen, in real-time and sends the data through wireless communication to the receiver. The receiver is located inside a farmhouse. The maximum distance between the sensing node and the receiver is approximately 1.3 km. The farmer can obtain the water quality information instantly, unlike the traditional method that requires several days to a week to determine the water quality result. The developed system can significantly reduce farmer workload by enabling real-time water-quality monitoring. |
