Description
Summary:Microwave technology plays a vital role in diagnostic and detection of different blood viruses. The technology presented here is microstrip antenna with proximity coupling feed sensor known as "Microstrip Cavity Resonator Biosensor (MCRB)". It is mainly based on the very specific immune reaction between antigen and antibody. The proposed method depends on the fact that the electrical properties of the liquid, i.e. water, blood, etc., as dielectric constant, electrical conductivity and resistivity are changed due to the existence of viruses, their antibodies and/or their antigens. These electrical changes could be measured from the changes of reflection coefficient, input impedance and resonance frequency of the cavity resonator of the biosensor. Proximity coupled feed circular disc antenna is used in sensor design. Proposed antennas are modified to operate at two different bands, one band at Industrial scientific and medical (ISM 2.45GHz) and the other band at wireless local area network (WLAN 5.2 GHz). The studies of the change of electrical properties of reconstituted serum samples are presented at both frequencies to detect different concentrations of Rota virus.
