ATP functional specification for automated train coupling/decoupling operation

Coupling/decoupling technology of train is essential not only for the usual work of formation building, but also for the operation with variable formation according to the change in transportation demand within the same line and for equalization of allocation interval of main line and branch line. description Coupling/decoupling technology of train is essential not only for the usual work of formation building, but also for the operation with variable formation according to the change in transportation demand within the same line and for equalization of allocation interval of main line and branch line. However, there are problems of long time required and frequent occurrence of accidents due to the human error since existing train coupling/decoupling operation is completely accomplished by the intervention of operator. Therefore, automated train coupling/decoupling is required. This paper presents functional specifications of ATP (Automatic Train Protection) to automate coupling/decoupling operation of train.
