Summary: | The paper deals with the design of flux-weakening control for high-speed surface-mounted permanent-magnet machine (SM PMM) for aircraft starter/generator applications. The reported detailed analysis of a machine-converter system gives a good insight into the plant's dynamic properties and leads to a successful controller design. For both motoring and generating modes, the small-signal analysis has been performed, linearized system mathematical models have been developed and the equivalent transfer functions have been derived. Based on these, a control approach that guarantee a specified system performance is developed and reported. The results are verified by time domain simulations. |
