Topological analysis of the steady-state mean-square deviation in noisy consensus

Summary: | We study the relationship between the structure of a network and the steady-state mean-square error in the standard consensus protocol with additive noise. This error is closely related to the eigenvalues of the protocol iteration matrix. We then study the relationship between the structural features of the network and the relevant eigenvalues using tools from algebraic graph theory. Our results allow us to find a set of structural features that strongly influence the mean-square error of the noisy consensus protocol. |
