Summary:User requirements for handheld and mobile devices are increasing day by day and with this the demand for accessing internet on these devices has also increased drastically. Wireless networks have some limitations like bandwidth, display screen size and the battery power available. Working and designing techniques are required and developed to enable appropriate display of web pages on the mobile devices minimizing the loading time based on these constraints. Tag based Transcoding and proxy based cache Transcoding is discussed here. A new proposal has also been discussed. All these aim at reducing bandwidth consumption and processing power.
