Description
Summary:Summary form only given, as follows. We have begun investigations into lengthening the RF pulse length from our injection locked relativistic klystron oscillator (RKO). We will show the electrical performance of our upgraded pulse power system which enables us to look into the next set of issues for pulse shortening. We will also present data from an RKO which has been brazed and baked out prior to operation. We have also fabricated several new components to enhance the quality of the electron beam used to power the RKO, and components to enhance the extraction of RF power from the modulated beam. We will also discuss the possibilities of future upgrades in RF power and system efficiency and the possibility of using permanent magnet focusing instead of the pulsed magnetic field coils presently used.
