Clinical detection of viral infection on an optofluidic chip

We demonstrate strain-specific detection of single virus nucleic acid molecules from clinical influenza samples using an optofluidic chip. We observe a limit of detection of 10 4 virus copies/mL and 10 orders of magnitude dynamic range.
