Summary: | Stringent delay constraint and the received video quality are the most important issues in cloud gaming. To improve the performance of the cloud gaming, a buffer status and content aware packet scheduling scheme is proposed. In the proposed algorithm, a buffer status estimation module is established to estimate the client buffer and playback information based on the feedback ACKs. The estimated buffer status information can be used to calculate the packet urgency and users' weights. By considering the packet priority, packet urgency and channel states, we define a novel utility function, based on which packet scheduling and RB assignment are jointly optimized. Furthermore, unlike the conventional segment request strategies, an adaptive segment request scheme is also proposed based on the estimation of MAC queue and client buffer status. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms can effectively improve the received video quality as well as the playback continuity. |
