Description
Summary:Practical skills are very important for better execution of theoretical knowledge. A hands-on experience is an essential factor in any environment where implementation is a daily business. Knowing the importance of practical skills development for young engineers, a one week training course on SMT assembly Line is proposed. Target audiences for the proposed course are students from electrical and computer engineering departments. The training is divided into four modules. The specialty of the course is that the engineers are provided with real PCB boards and components for execution of their practical work. At the end of the training course engineers are able to develop LED panel & its power control unit using the SMT Assembly Line. The purpose of the training is to develop strong industry and academia collaboration that results in imparting valuable technical skills to young engineers. The proposed course has been implemented on a group of students. An effective evaluation criteria has been followed to estimate the outcomes of the course. The results illustrate very promising outcome and its is recommended that the proposed training should be integrated with relevant electrical and computer engineering curriculum.
