Summary:In this paper, we present a cognitive routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) algorithm for dynamic optical networks, named CRWA algorithm. Different from the traditional RWA algorithm, a cognitive model derived from the Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) is introduced into the proposed algorithm to reduce computing complexity. Simulation results show that the computational time of CRWA is reduced about 25% compared to that of traditional RWA algorithm.
