Summary: | A semi-numeric boundary element-based method for fluidic piezoelectric disc sensors excited by lateral and transversal electric fields is presented. Besides AT-cut quartz, the method is also applied to alternative materials like lithium niobate, lithium tantalate and langatate which show much stronger coupling factors for lateral field excitation. Additionally to viscosity and density, the electrical conductivity and permittivity and the thickness of the fluid layer are considered. Their significant influence on the type of excited mode is discussed. |
