On the Stimulated Regime of Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

The transition from a spontaneous to a stimulated regime of Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers is demonstrated, both experimentally and theoretically. A S-shape in L (I) curves is not an evidence of lasing, but permits to measure beta.
