Summary: | In this paper the electrical motors which are used in electrical transportation systems are scrutinized one by one, determining the motor's power. The parameters which are dependent on the power are examined in detail by using a computer program. All types of motor are compared on the view of these conditions. We mainly examine the DC series motor and its operating characteristics. We briefly mention the DC commutator motor which can be compared with the other's peculiarities. Also these works are made for the induction motor and it is mentioned that the induction motor's peculiarities and operating characteristics are available for electrical transportation systems. It is explained that the linear motor enables electrical vehicles to travel faster than any other motor can do, how its construction is different from the others and its operating characteristics. As a last motor type, the switched reluctance motor is introduced. After finishing scrutinizing electrical motors which can be used in electrical transportation systems, we calculated the motors' power, compared them with each other and marked the most available motor for electrical transportation systems. |
