Description
Summary:This paper presents a scheme to improve the accuracy of the stochastic FDTD (S-FDTD) method. The S-FDTD calculates the variations in the electromagnetic fields caused by variability or uncertainty in the electrical properties. The accuracy of the S-FDTD method is controlled by the approximations for the correlation coefficients of the fields and the electrical properties. In this paper, a new approximation for the correlation coefficients is estimated through Monte Carlo method with a small number of runs, i.e. Monte Carlo correlation coefficient (MC-CC). Numerical results for two bio electromagnetic examples demonstrate that MC-CC can improve the accuracy of the S-FDTD method in comparison with previous approximations.
