Summary: | In this paper, a 3-electrode amperometric sensor readout circuit that can be used for multiple electrochemical sensor cells with an embedded integrator for charge determination is presented. The circuit consists of a wide current range amperometric sensor readout circuit that utilizes a PMOS source at the input thereby providing low input impedance. The circuit also has PMOS pass elements for Working Electrode (WE) selection. The front-end is coupled to a current integrator circuit formed by a Second Generation Current Conveyor (CCII) which gives the amount of charge generated over time by the redox reaction. Pre-layout simulations are carried out using HSPICE G2012.06. The circuit was implemented using TSMC 0.35um Mixed Mode CMOS Process. |
