Description
Summary:This paper presents the design and simulations of a Rotman lens for use at 60 GHz frequency band. This lens will be used as a feeding network for a multi-beam antenna. Both the lens and the antenna array will be made in LTCC technology. To avoid the losses produced by the ceramic material used in LTCC, the lens has been designed based in Ridge-Gap Waveguides for the input and output ports. Since wave propagation in ridge-gap waveguides takes place in air, loss is significantly reduced. This is an important advantage when comparing with other common technologies such as microstrip lenses in LTCC.
