Description
Summary:Strategically integrating gas, electricity and heating systems through hybrid heaters could provide power system planning benefits. This research establishes the system-wide value from deployment of different hybrid heating technologies and encourages systems integration to optimize power system investments in a system with high wind penetration. In particular, the widespread deployment of hybrid heat pump-gas boiler systems minimizes total system costs for power and heating by increasing operational flexibility and reducing investment costs in power generation capacity and heating technology.
