Summary: | In this letter, a stochastic model of a finite-state Markov chain for performance analysis of epidemic routing in sparse 1-D two-way linear vehicular ad hoc networks is introduced. In the model, messages are delivered from an infrastructure station located at one end of a highway to randomly selected vehicles running on it. Closed-form expressions of expected message delay and the number of copies are obtained. Simulation results confirm the accuracy of the model. |
