Description
Summary:This paper presents three alternatives to database adequacy aiming at on-line dynamic security assessment. Usually, on-line data available at the control centers are not prepared to be directly used in dynamic simulations due to discrepancies between power system data models used in EMS' databases and power system analysis software (off-line). Challenges and requirements of such adequacy are initially discussed and then the proposed strategies are described. Results on an actual on-line case of the Brazilian Interconnected Power System (BIPS) are presented. This work was developed as part of a joint research project conducted by the Brazilian Electric Energy Research Center (CEPEL) in collaboration with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ), aiming at the development of dynamic security assessment tools.
