Summary: | Many scientific applications require greater power from solid-state sources than has previously been available. This paper will describe efforts to increase the power handling of diode based frequency multipliers to meet this need. These efforts include improved thermal management and in-phase power combining. Two examples of new sources will be presented; a 263 GHz source with greater than 100mW for dynamic nuclear polarization and a 1.9 THz source for radio astronomy with 35uW peak power and over 200 GHz of 3dB tuning bandwidth. |
