Description
Summary:The scattering of an H-wave by a circular cylinder, infinite in length and comprised of a very good conductor, is investigated when simultaneously rotating and translating. First order approximations of the Lorentz transformation and Franklin transformations are used to investigate the effect of translation and rotation, respectively, upon the H-wave scattered field of the conducting cylinder. Taken together, it is seen that both phase and magnitude of the scattered field are significantly affected, producing additional information about the complex, dynamic scattering body. This work extends previous efforts to characterize with higher fidelity the signals returned to a radar system from moving, complex platforms, especially those with onboard, dynamic scattering mechanisms.
