Summary: | This paper presents the use of metamaterial structures and host transmission line for the improvement of cut off frequency, insertion loss and size reduction of the filter. Here we have taken third order microstrip Lowpass filter with cut off frequency of 2 GHz, FR-4 lossy is used as a substrate with dielectric constant 4.3. Richard's transformation and Kuruda's identity have been used to convert the lumped elements into the distributed line elements to realize the filter. Two different shapes of CSRR have been considered for carrying out exact cut off frequency. Instead of increasing the order of filter we use square and circular shapes of CSRR's with host transmission line in the ground plane. The whole design was simulated by using CST Microwave Studio for further implementation. |
