Description
Summary:A dual-band ultra-wide band (UWB) antenna for radar applications is presented in this paper operated at Ku band and K band frequencies. The proposed antenna is performed with Rogers RT5880 dielectric substrate material with thickness of 1.2mm and designed different rectangular slots. It is fed by coaxial feeding techniques to achieve the wider characteristics. The most of element area the current is distributed because of different slot has been introduced in this research also to attain the ultra wideband (UWB) characteristics. The proposed antenna exhibit that the resonant frequency of 16.1 GHz on the higher Ku band frequency and 23.3GHz on the lower K-band frequency. An extensive analysis of return loss, voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR), peak gain, radiation efficiency and current distribution of the proposed antenna is simulated using Ansoft HFSS. This proposed antenna is highly suitable for radar application also used for satellite applications.
