Description
Summary:In case of RF acceleration, there are three kinds of parameters; frequency, phase and amplitude of voltage. The optimum combination of these parameters cannot be derived analytically from the injection condition and the final energy because the system is not linear. In order to get the optimized set of these parameters for a new beam condition automatically, a numerical code for beam tracing was developed and installed in the NV-GSD-HE, which has ten RF acceleration cells, and in the NV-GSD-HE3, which has twelve cells. This code can simulate acceleration and deceleration of ions in the LINAC and provide the optimized RF parameters as a result. Additionally, this code can simultaneously calculate parameters of the quadrupole lenses in the LINAC for an injected beam with an assumed emittance. The calculated parameters can be automatically used for the LINAC tuning for a new beam condition as this code works with the automatic beam tuning.
