74 nm, 2.5 GHz supercontinuum generation in a dispersion-shifted fiber

A 74 nm, 2.5 GHz stable supercontinuum pulse source has been demonstrated with a gain-switched DFB laser as pump source. The stable, narrow pulses with mean pulsewidth of 4.8 ps are filtered out across the whole SC bandwidth. The experimental results verify some theoretical simulations.
