Summary:We propose an optical power stabilized LD module without APC circuit and monitor PD. It utilizes the temperature dependence of the LD wavelength. With the designed filter, the power penalty is suppressed to 0 dB at full operating temperature range and the optical signal power level reduction is only 1.2 dB at 15/spl deg/C and 0 dB at 70/spl deg/C in 1.3 /spl mu/m InGaAsP/InP FP MQW LD. We also demonstrate the method by means of the fiber-coupler-filter.
