Summary:A finite difference time domain (FDTD) method in combination with the perfectly matched layer (PML) is used for dispersive media. The FDTD method is derived using the convolution relationship between the current density J and the electric field E. The high accuracy of the FDTD method is confirmed by computing the reflection and transmission coefficients for a one dimensional nonmagnetized plasma slab.
