Summary: | The key issue of mobility management scheme in a third-generation mobile system is to reduce the load of the home location register (HLR), and to eliminate the system bottleneck. A new scheme is presented in this paper, based on HomeVLR technology. The location update and call delivery are processed in the local HomeVLR, so that the load of the HLR is distributed to all VLRs in the area, with little impact on the call setup delay and little increase in the VLRs load. |
