Some capabilities of magnetic implosion of high-velocity condensed-matter liners in the ALT-3 driver

Simulations of the ALT-3 driver with a modified measuring unit and liner assembly are reported. They demonstrate new capabilities of the driver as applied to materials properties studies under ramp and shock compression to ∼20Mbar and ∼80Mbar, respectively.
