Summary: | The subject of this work was to apply methods of chaotic dynamics to EEG analysis in order to reveal probable differences between Hurst exponents calculated for the EEG of schoolchildren with different levels of progress. It was found that in relaxation of the open eyes condition the maximum values of the Hurst exponent were obtained for schoolchildren with normal level of progress in studies comparing them with children with learning difficulties. The interhemispherical asymmetry between left and right inferior frontal areas, Broca's area and symmetrical area, was observed for schoolchildren with normal progress in studies in relaxation of the open eyes condition, while in the other group of children that phenomenon was absent. The above differences are discussed in terms of insufficiency of cortical activation. |
