Summary:RPL (Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy networks) is a routing protocol for Low power and Lossy networks (LLN) in the internet of thing, standardized by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). RPL is a distance-vector protocol. It constructs an acyclic graph called DODAG (Destination Oriented Directed Acyclic Graph), allowing to establish the routes towards the sink. DODAG overns the route depending on certain metrics injected into objective function. This paper presents an evaluation of RPL performance, using the Cooja simulator, while increasing the sinks number in the network. This modification affects the RPL performance: lost packet and energy consumption are reduced, on the other hand; PDR, received packet and throughput are increased.
