Summary: | Implementation of wind permanent magnet synchronous generators and parks in the power system sets certain requirements to their static and dynamic characteristics. One of these requirements is reactive power regulation and improvement of the quality of electricity in weak networks. The paper proposes the use of a static var compensator for providing low voltage ride through and the quality of the electricity, and its control is proposed. A mathematical model of the studied power system with permanent magnet synchronous generator is developed that is be used for testing of all normal and emergency modes of operation. With the detailed and accurate model, it is possible to examine not only the modes of operation but also the quality of management and to design such compensators and their management. |
