Summary:This study explored the preparation method of the micro electrical discharge machine (m-EDM). The electronically controlled system was designed through an electrode system platform transmitting an Arduino microcontroller, a motor linked three axis moving pan head, and 3D printing technology, which replaced the traditional manual method to render the mechanism more stable and convenient to operate and increase the efficiency of the preparation process. The preparation process was optimized through Ziegler-Nichols method, in which the closed loop control system identified the critical coefficient and the shock period through steady state oscillation. According to this method, the PID servo control parameter ratio was adjusted to affect the gap control of the electro spark discharge process.
