Description
Summary:In this paper, a particle filter design for the effective wind speed estimation for large-scaled wind turbines is proposed. Based on a reduced wind turbine model and a non-Gaussian distribution of the effective wind speed the design procedure for a particle filter is discussed. Different simulation runs show the applicability of the particle filter approach for wind turbines only equipped with standard sensors at the drive train and in the pitch-drives.
