Description
Summary:This paper specializes on the real-time simulation of the Prony filter for capturing low frequency dynamics in power systems. The development is accomplished integrating two platforms: OPAL-RT and Matlab & Simulink. Where a computational efficient Prony calculation is implemented in order to yield damping and frequency estimates in short-time. The analysis is performed through a sliding analisys window, which it is used to guarantee instantaneous estimates. The low frequency oscillations' identification process is applied on two systems. Experimental results confirm the propositions performance, precision, and reliability.
