Description
Summary:Which distribution commonly used to fit a species abundance distribution gives the best fit across several area sizes? We approach this problem by looking at the moments of the distribution and compare these with those the distribution based on empirical data on tree species collected in Barro Colorado Island, Panama. We conclude that no single distribution gives the best fit at all scales.
