Description
Summary:Today, UAV (Unmade Aerial Vehicle) platforms are increasingly being used to acquire low cost high resolution digital images to extract geoinformation datasets by Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing approaches. This paper shows a study that was performed to verify the influence of redundant images in the extraction of 3D point cloud using a UAV image block and Structure From Motion (SFM) approach. Cross strips are added to a conventional image block; using two configurations of control points, four experiments were performed. The obtained results from the performed experiments, showed that cross strips, added in the conventional image block, increased nearly to 50% the horizontal and vertical accuracies of 3D point coordinates, extracted by proposed approach.
