Summary: | As we know that solar and wind resources are highly unstable, hybrid energy systems came into existence for supplying electrical energy. Hybrid energy system is combination of two or more renewable energy units, which improves the efficiency and energy supply balance. For the better utilization of hybrid energy systems we need both technical and economic analysis. Since it consist of more than one generation system, the analysis is quite complex. So for designing and analysing these systems, we are in a need of some software tools. There are so many softwares available. In this paper we are studying three of those softwares namely HOMER, IHOGA, RETSCREEN and PVSYST. The primary objective of this paper is to provide the basic information and help the researcher in selecting a suitable software tool for his research. This paper also highlights the capabilities, limitations, analysis type and theiravailability. |
