Summary: | The reduction of CO_{2} emissions from vessels gain relevance after European regulations became more rigorous, monitoring and checking CO_{2} emissions in European Union (EU) ports. Based on these concerns, this work aims to study strategies to include lithium-ion batteries in a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) diesel-electric system. Regarding the different operation strategies (Spinning reserve and Strategic loading), batteries can be considered to optimize the dispatch of diesel generators, aiming to reduce the consumption of fuel and the CO_{2} emissions. Minimum load level for diesel generators and battery characteristics such as power, capacity, C-rate were analyzed to assess their impact in CO_{2} emissions. |
