Summary:The Dick effect is one of the main limits for most atomic clock operated in a pulsed mode. Analysis and evaluations of the Dick effect are thoroughly discussed in different schemes of atomic clocks. Applying better local oscillators with lower phase noise and using interleaving lock to eliminate the dead time are the two main paths to suppressing the Dick effect. In this paper, we report our experimental progress in suppressing Dick effect in Cs Ramsey-CPT atomic clock by two atomic ensembles with interleaving lock.
