Summary: | This article presents the results of experimental studies concerning assessment of impregnation efficiency of selected dielectric liquids of different viscosities. The studies were carried out at different process temperature such as 20, 60, 80 and 100°C while capillary effect was used as experimental technique. The results showed that impregnation efficiency, understood as the rate of liquid penetration into pressboard, is strictly linked to the kinematic viscosity of the liquid. In this field the mineral oil tested showed the best impregnation properties in relation to the rest of the liquids considered. However among the alternative liquids the better impregnation efficiency was noticed for blended low viscosity ester than for natural ester and synthetic ester in all the ranges of the temperature process applied. |
