Influence of RZ and NRZ signal format on the high-speed performance of gain-clamped semiconductor optical amplifiers
High-speed experiments show that the influence from the limited relaxation frequency of GC-SOAs that severely degrades the performance for NRZ signals is reduced by using RZ signals, thus resulting in a higher input power dynamic range.
