Summary: | In the proposed design and analysis as given in the paper, a novel uniplanar EBG unit cell has been designed which can also act as an AMC. The uniplanar cell is placed on a flexible polyester sheet and its non-via construction makes it suitable for an extensive range of applications. A 7x7mm uniplanar EBG unit cell has been constructed and its bandgap characteristics have been studied. To measure the bandgap characteristics, suspended transmission line method has been used. Return and insertion losses have been simulated and measured using CST Microwave Studio. The proposed EBG unit cell has a bandgap of 203.7MHz and the reflection phase is zero degree indicating it behaves analogous to an AMC structure. |
