Summary: | In this paper, we propose a novel way for analysis of manufacturing data related to production of circuit breakers which are critical components of power distribution lines. Typically, the life span of a circuit breaker is of the order of 30 to 40 years. However, certain circuit breakers fail early within short span of 0-5 years and it's important to find out the reasons for early failure of these critical components. In this paper, we propose a systematic approach to look into the manufacturing data to gain insight into the reasons for failures and provide recommendations to the manufacturer for improving the manufacturing process/operations based on these insights. The proposed approach is based on machine learning and data analytics. |
