Summary: | This paper deals with the micro-motion parameter estimation of ballistic targets. In the proposed method, the Randomized Stepped Frequency (RSF) radar waveform is applied to provide high resolution of both range and velocity at the same time, which makes the separation of multiple micro-motion components easier. Then following the least squares criterion, a new estimation algorithm is introduced to achieve accurate target precession angle and period. Numerical experiments using data from commercial electromagnetic simulation software show that the proposed method can accurately estimate the micro-motion parameters of a conical warhead with a significantly shorter observing time. |
