Summary:In this paper we propose and evaluate a Decentralized Model Predictive Controller (DMPC) for voltage regulation on a ship power system. The controller is implemented on two FPGA based control boards and evaluated using a Hardware In the Loop (HIL) approach. To evaluate the sensitivity of the controller to communication network performance a network emulator is used.
