Summary: | A behavioral model of an optical bit-interleaving time-division multiplexing (OTDM) for transport data using VHDL is described. VHDL simulation results are given for mode-locked laser, splitter, modulator, combiner, etc. Both electronic and optical signals are required in the same environment in order to describe and simulate such an electro-optical system. Moreover, component level models of devices such as laser diodes, separator, regenerator, fiber, fiber amplifier, etc., can be implemented or incorporated in a more detailed model of OTDM networks. |
