Summary: | The communication deals with the 3-D electromagnetic model elaboration and numerical investigation of the scattering properties of jet engine inlets accounting for real shape of the air duct and presence of the engine first stage to be the main scatterer. The basis of the model is the utilization of equivalence theorem and integral expressions for the electromagnetic fields in conjunction with iterative techniques to improve the accuracy of the surface currents evaluation on the duct walls and termination (e.g. blade structure). The results of numerical investigations are presented together with the indexes of the computer program performance for various types of engine intakes including curved ones (S-type) and ducts with complex blade structure inside. |
