Summary: | We present a Wi-Fi smartphone active shop-level Indoor Location System stable over time, which allows the development of a business model for an IT company. The proposed system covers all the steps in the deployment of the solution, from the digital map creation to the evaluation of the performance. To avoid unnecessary battery drain, only RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) levels of already deployed Access Point are used in the location algorithm. The system has been deeply tested against several smartphones with a suitable accuracy in a medium-size mall, independently of the occupancy level and the smartphone model employed in the validation routes. |
